ASSUMPTIONS AND SCOPE
What the planner covers, and what it doesn’t.
WHO IT’S FOR
UK employees expecting Statutory Maternity Pay. It is not built for self-employed parents, Maternity Allowance or shared parental leave.
RATES USED
2026/27 Statutory Maternity Pay rate and tax thresholds, from GOV.UK.
STATUTORY PAY
90% of average weekly earnings for six weeks, then the flat rate (or 90% if lower) for up to 33 weeks. Any remaining leave is unpaid.
ENHANCED PAY
Your employer’s package is modelled from the phases you enter. It cannot reproduce your exact payroll calculation.
TAKE-HOME ESTIMATE
Income Tax, National Insurance and pension contributions are estimated from the payslip details you give.
HOUSEHOLD BUFFER
Based on the spending, other income and savings you enter. It is a planning aid, not a check of what you can afford.
This is an illustrative estimate based on what you enter and published rates. It isn’t tax or financial advice, and it doesn’t replace your employer’s payroll figures or HMRC guidance. If you save a plan, it stays in your browser on this device and nowhere else.
