ASSUMPTIONS AND SCOPE
What the planner covers, and what it doesn’t.
WHO IT’S FOR
UK sole traders, including a side business alongside a job. Not limited companies or partnerships.
TAX YEARS
2025/26 and 2026/27 rates and thresholds, including the Scottish Income Tax bands where you choose Scotland.
WHAT’S ESTIMATED
Income Tax, Class 2 and Class 4 National Insurance, and payments on account, from the profit figures you enter.
SET-ASIDE GUIDE
A suggested share of each payment to reserve for tax, based on your estimate. It is a rule of thumb, not a target.
DEADLINES
Registration, Self Assessment, payment and Making Tax Digital dates for the year you pick.
NOT COVERED
Student loan repayments, pension tax relief, capital gains, CIS deductions and any reliefs specific to your situation.
This is an illustrative estimate based on what you enter and published rates. It isn’t tax advice and doesn’t replace your Self Assessment calculation, HMRC guidance or advice from an accountant. Your figures stay on this page and are cleared when you reload.
